Jersey Numbers Explained

If you're like me, and you occasionally watch soccer but don't follow it extensively, then you might not quite understand the numbering system for the jerseys that team players wear.  I had no idea there was a system to the numbers until I read this article in the Chosun Ilbo today.  The number system for jerseys was first introduced to the World Cup in 1954, but had been in existence since its origin in English in 1928.  Now when I watch the World Cup Korea games, I'll be a little more knowledgeable about the jerseys on the field.
