Starting the 3rd year!

Today marks the beginning of my third year in Korea!  On March 1, 2008 I arrived in Korea with no idea of what to expect, a minimal knowledge of Korean, and had never tasted any Korean food.  And now, going into my third year, I now understand a lot more about this beautiful country that no guide book could fully describe (you have to experience it yourself), have eaten many strange but tasty Korean foods, and improved my grasp of the language well enough to function in society.  In the process, there have been many adventures and travels around the country, off to the island of Jeju, and even a trip over to Japan.  But there are still many things that I want to do and see, which is why it's so easy to find yourself spending more than one year here--or three, as the case may be!

If you're at a point in your life where you're not sure what to do next, or looking for an adventure, why not try Korea?  Teaching in Korea has been quite a rewarding experience and not for a second do I regret coming here.  It takes a little legwork to get papers in order, as well as the confidence in yourself to make a big change in lifestyle, but you'll thank yourself in the end.  If you're curious about my journey to and through Korea, feel free to contact me with questions or comments.  You can find my email in my user information.  Thank you for reading, and I hope to keep entertaining and informing you about Korea in the year to come!
