Ready for the holidays

The weather is starting to feel a lot like Christmas, and other signs of the holiday season are appearing as well. While the blatant commercialism present in the States is mostly absent here, some semblance of the shopping spirit has permeated Korea. A few more advertisements are popping up on TV and before movies in the theater, and stores are putting out flyers promoting good holiday deals.

One of my favorite things about the holidays is seeing decorations go up. It puts me in a festive mood seeing all the lights and colors everywhere. I also enjoy putting up the tree and decorating it, which I will do shortly. But for now, please enjoy a picture of festivity at the Gwangju U-Square bus terminal, taken on the way to watch "The Christmas Carol" in IMAX 3-D. Christmas spirit is alive in Gwangju!
