Happy Early Thankgiving!

In the spirit of the season, to celebrate good friends, and eat delicious food, we had an early Thanksgiving dinner this past Sunday. The centerpiece of this feast was a 15 lb (7.5 kg) turkey cooked to tender, juicy perfection and seasoned with butter, herbs, and maple bacon. Accompanying from various sources was garlic mashed potatoes, rustic herb stuffing, Cajun spiced green beans, macaroni & cheese, japchae (Korean glass noodles), cranberry sauce, walnut pie, and ice cream! It was a satisfying meal that left everyone full, sleepy from tryptophan, and happy.

It was great to enjoy the relaxed conversation that followed our meal, and the friendships that existed in our group. Many of our friends met each other for the first time, but soon new friendships were born from these meetings.

While all the cooking and preparation left us with a feeling of "whew!," it was a great dinner and night overall! I'd like to thank all our friends who came to celebrate with us, you guys are great!

  1. We're having a "Thanksgiving" this Saturday, and I hope it goes as well as yours did! There's going to be a lot of improvising for us as the majority of things we need (spices for instance) this country just doesn't seem to have! I do wish I was home (as you probably do to!), but this will be quite the adventure too :) Hope Korea is treating you well, how much longer are you staying over there?
