Awesome Things about Korea #40: Embracing the Random

Random English sprinkled on signs and t-shirts.  Random Konglish popping up in stores and in conversation.  Random behavior by Koreans and foreigners alike.  Random conversations with Koreans and foreigners in the most unlikely of places.  Random freebies at stores and restaurants.  Random sprinkles on your free canned peaches or salad.

Let's face it.  Korea is rife with random events.  In a given day, you could experience some of the most interesting things you have never seen before in your life.

But part of the beauty of being in Korea is embracing the random.  Take pictures if you must.  Share the random with your friends in Korea and those at home.  Laugh if it seems appropriate.  And cherish the memories.

Breakfast cereal with random English.  What exactly is "corn pleasure"?

  2. Too often people get bogged down in 'I hate Korea' stuff, and it's these cute little things that always brought me back to grinning and shaking my head.

  3. Found your blog through the Teach ESL website, I am moving to Korea in August. Definitely excited, and will have to bookmark your page. Great stuff.
