Men, Drink Up!

Good news if you're a guy and a coffee drinker--that daily cup of joe (or three or four...) gives you a healthy edge over those who don't drink coffee.  Studies have found that men who drink coffee are at a lesser risk of developing deadly prostate cancer.  Men who drink six cups a day could see about a 60% decrease in their risk of prostate cancer, compared to those who drink none.

What causes this decrease?  Studies suggest it is linked to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits of coffee.

The study allowed for other factors that could possibly lead to development of prostate cancer, such as smoking and limited exercise.  Even so, researchers found that coffee drinking still had a profound effect on reducing cancer risks.

The fact remains, though, given Korea's affinity for coffee drinking--I don't think those little 100 won coffees from the vending machines count.
