The Gwangju Biennale opened on September 3, and will continue to November 7. Held every even-numbered year, this large-scale art and culture show boasts exhibits and artists from all around the world. This year's theme is "10,000 Lives," which was inspired by a series of poems by author Ko Un. He was imprisoned for resisting the Chun Doo Hwan military regime, where he penned the series.
