Changing the Rules
Great news for more foreigners in Korea who want to buy the new IPhone 4G when it comes out this summer: it is getting easier to get your hands on this shiny piece of technology! (This news piece makes me happy, as I want to trade in my old phone for a new IPhone 4G this summer and don't want to go through a big hassle doing it.) Prior to the new changes to KT's policy on the IPhone for foreigners, you had to jump through hoops to get one, as well as empty out your wallet. You see, foreigners weren't eligible for the monthly installment payment plan, but now, more foreign visa holders will be able to buy the IPhone without paying the total cost of the phone upfront. This isn't quite extended to E-2 visa holders yet, but with this change coming to other foreign visa holders soon, it's hopefully only a matter of time before E-2s can catch a break, too.
