I always knew there was a reason that "Kung Fu Panda" was so awesome when I saw it two years ago. This article from the Chosun Ilbo today confirms why: Korean animator Jhun Yong-duk was the director of photography for the hit movie, and serves as a head of layout for the upcoming "Shrek Forever After." He is the only Asian among the 5 heads of layout for Shrek 3.
"Kung Fu Panda" was highly regarded for its amazing Asian colors and imagery, thanks to Jhun Yong-duk's influence. Sadly, he isn't on the list of production for the sequel, due out in 2011. But he is working on another animated film, entitled "The Croods." That is scheduled for release in 2012.
