Drama Fever

Dramas are insanely popular in Korea, with TVs in restaurants tuned in to the latest and hottest show, people following along on the bus/subway on their cell phones, or taxi drivers attempting to divide their time between watching their car TVs and keeping their eyes on the road.

Just like romantic comedy movies that you can love to hate (or hate to love), K-Dramas follow a formulaic pattern and can employ one (or many) of the clichés of drama writing.

The ever-popular "Boys Over Flowers" from last spring is a prime example of #7.  But who doesn't love a good "Cinderella meets Prince Charming" story?
